Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about the U.S. agent for service requirement and our services.
Who needs to designate a U.S. agent for service?
According to 14 CFR 3.303, individuals who have a foreign address and no U.S. physical address of record on file with the FAA must designate a U.S. agent if they hold or apply for certificates, ratings, or authorizations issued under parts 47, 61, 63, 65, 67, or 107. This includes pilots, mechanics, flight engineers, drone operators, and aircraft owners.
What are the deadlines for designating a U.S. agent?
Current certificate holders must designate a U.S. agent by July 7, 2025. New applicants must designate a U.S. agent by April 2, 2025, as stated in 14 CFR 3.303(d).
What happens if I don't designate a U.S. agent by the deadline?
If you fail to designate a U.S. agent by the deadline, you may not exercise the privileges of any certificate, rating, or authorization. For aircraft owners, your aircraft registration certificate will be considered ineffective.
What types of documents will my U.S. agent receive?
Your U.S. agent may receive enforcement action letters, notices, and orders; reexamination letters; letters of investigation; letters requesting additional information or denying a medical certificate; and notices to aircraft owners of ineffective or invalid aircraft registration.
How quickly will I be notified when my U.S. agent receives documents?
With our Basic Package, we forward documents electronically the same business day. With our Premium Package, we provide immediate notification for all documents, including 24/7 emergency notifications for urgent matters.
Can I change my U.S. agent after designation?
Yes, you can change your U.S. agent at any time. However, according to 14 CFR 3.303(c), you must notify the FAA of any change to your U.S. agent designation or the U.S. agent's contact information within 30 days of the change.
How do I designate your service as my U.S. agent?
We assist you through the entire process. After signing up, we'll help you complete the designation through the FAA's U.S. Agent for Service System (USAS). Our Premium and Enterprise plans include full assistance with the USAS registration process.
What if I have a U.S. address but don't live there full-time?
If you have a U.S. physical address (not a P.O. box) on file with the FAA, you are not required to designate a U.S. agent, even if you don't live there full-time. However, if your official address with the FAA is foreign, you must designate a U.S. agent.
Is your service address acceptable according to FAA regulations?
Yes, our service provides a compliant U.S. agent address as defined in 14 CFR 3.302. We do not use post office boxes, military post office boxes, or mail drop boxes, which are explicitly prohibited by the regulations.
What information do I need to provide to designate your service as my U.S. agent?
You'll need to provide your full name, email address, physical location, mailing address, and certificate details (such as certificate number, FAA tracking number, or aircraft registration information). We'll guide you through the entire process.
